iiiiit's FINAL MAJOR PROJECT TIME :D

It's time to think of a FINAL MAJOR PROJECT.
And as my last idea about HELVETICA sucked ass, I came up with a new idea (thanks Heather lol).

I'm now thinking about doing a sort of de-branding project, that instead of bringing customers in, it puts them off.

I've decided to call the project: The (un)co-operative.

So instead of taglines such as: "We go further so you dont have to", I will change it to "You go further so we don't have to" etc.

When thinking about doing this, i didn't really want to do a branding style project, I wanted to create a book/set of books, but I feel this will show more of my skills, as I will reproduce the branding styles, reflecting it in my own way and responding to my research of this, and then create a book about it, where my bookmaking skills will be exposed also.

That is all.

This is a design similar to the one used now on Coop carrier bags, but with my own words.

Another carrier bag idea.

Advice To Sink In Slowly

Today we put up most of the ADVICE posters. They looked fantastic. :)

I should've been writing dissertation but...

I got bored. I capitalised on this by realising my hatred for the D&AD logo.
So i thought I'd make a new one.
Probably been done before, but I liked the idea.
Bit shitty, but its an idea nonetheless :)... and it took a little bit of my time up, so now I can get back to dissertation!

Peace out

Advice To Sink In Slowly & AMAZING Family Tree

So we had to design an A4 poster giving advice to students starting 1st year degrees.
I had a few ideas, and I really liked the brief because it was quite open - except for the fact that I couldn't choose a single one of my ideas to use. So I've done about 3 final ones lol.
Here's 1:

The family tree. Well, it is what it is lol.
But as time goes on, I kind of like it :D

It's now an 'Apple' Tree ;)

Busy day with galleries!

On Friday 25th of September, we decided to visit London to do a bit of cultural sightseeing.
Apart from the mishaps including wrong tube tickets and endless walking, it was very enlightening!
Here is some evidence where we went!

First we went to Tent - a mix of contemporary interior design and product design. Good for how to set up small exhibition space for the end of year 3 and also some really interesting stuff!
Secondly we went to the design museum. Great 3d and display work with a mix of illustration and graphic design. Gave me lots of inspiration for final major.
Thirdly we went to the Tate. Was ok, but not much that was the kind of stuff were wanted to see. Pop art stuff was cool, as well as some of the more contemporary stuff.
Fourth we went to the V&A. That was pretty rubbish. I liked the idea of the one exhibition we went to, but it was late and I was all galleried out!
(Next we went to Primark - of course Laura wanted to go!)
Finally we went to Whitechapel Gallery to the Book Fair. Lots of interesting books - hand made and published - that people were selling. Saw Metta and also David Jury.

End of day. :) Long, tiring, expensive, but productive.
